Macintosh II programmer/reset key/switch?
Posted by: TimHD on 2016-11-05 16:36:51
I've seen Mac 128/512/Plus programmer keys/reset switches (thin long, on left hand side) and the ones for theSE/SE/30 switches (taller, 2 pivoting buttons, LHS), but find that neither works on a Mac II (fx specifically) to access the two buttons on the RHS (right hand side). Are these available?

I think I have a few of them, purchased on ebay cheap. I think it was macmetex who sold them.

You can adapt the more common SE programmer switch to fit in a Mac II/IIfx case, using double sided tape thinly applied around the switch's casing to hold it in position in the splines of the II case.

Do they have a particular name? Did not see them during earlier searches.

The part number is 815-6024 and should work with the mac II, IIx, IIfx.

Look up rob spivey (macmetex) on lemswap google groups. He was selling them for $2 a pop back in 5/19/2014.

For the time being, you can always use a paper clip to press the buttons. (I still do that on my Plus, which has no programmer's switch...)
