Big save from Philly
Posted by: kd2dhp on 2026-07-04 12:14:06
Yesterday I picked up a big lot of vintage Macs in Philly from a Facebook Marketplace ad. It had started at $1,000, but I got the lot for $600. No photos yet and I don't know what I'm going to do with it all yet, and hopefully I can start testing stuff tomorrow.

Four SE's
SE/30 (not battery bombed, but rusted. Salvageable)
IIci
IIcx
IIsi
LC 475
Performa 475 w/ 33MHz full 68040
Quadra 840AV battery bombed
Power Macintosh 7100
Power Macintosh 5260/120
Power Macintosh 5300/100 LC w/ Apple IIe card
Power Macintosh 5400/225
Power Macintosh 6500/300
Power Mac G4 Quicksilver w/ dual 1GHz and Geforce 4 ti4600 card
Power Mac G5 w/ dual 2GHz and Geforce 5200
Several printers, CRT monitors and ADB keyboards

Pics tomorrow

Amazing haul! One minor detail, there was no 5400/225, so it's either a 5400/200 or a 5500/225 🙂

Awesome! Look forward to seeing the crew.

Blimey - if you went looking for a GeForce 4Ti 4600 you'd pay a good bit of that. Not sure if anyone who has owned one has some advice as they seem to fail frequently from what I've heard. Is it worth repasting?

I have a soft spot for the SE, 475 and IIci 🙂 have fun with them all. Time for a Super Maze Wars LAN party!

That's a ton of great projects right there 😄 If the Q840 is unsalvageable you can at least take the 040 and plop in the LC475. And a 7100 board in a IIc_ case makes for a great sleeper minitower 💪

What's weird about the Q840 is that the case looks like it took the brunt of the damage. The logic board doesn't look...terrible
