Picked up another iifx
Posted by: imactheknife on 2026-07-03 05:28:36
So if course has some battery damage. So couple of questions…

Does it look like it can be repaired or should i look into a reload board? The rtc chip is done. I have spares. But another chip is toast and some legs are missing from another.

Another question is how can one tell the memory size? I was hoping to uograde my working iifx to more than 8 megs.

Yeah long drive lol.. but had a few other things to pick up at a friends so made a day of it.

The board has lots of broken traces but in the scheme of things it isn’t terrible.

These RAM simms looks like 1Mb simms to me. 1Mb simms are not very rare. But simms with more Mb's are very rare.

Edit: I see in the video the the reset button is missing. Is a model used on various logic boards, so should be find easy.

So pulled the two bad chips and cleaned them. I will either need replacing or dremal into the top. Lots of broken or missing traces.. so still uncertain if i should reload this one?

Well they turned out to be 4 megs🙂 so now i have 32 in my main iifx. Going to send logic off to a good friend for reloading. He has one left.
