| FileSharing Memory |
Posted by: mikes-macs on 2026-05-27 10:42:07 Is there a way to increase the amount of system memory to Mac OS 9's file sharing? I have 22 disk images that I want to share separately to older Mac systems, but only 8 of them will share and the rest will not. I believe the reason the rest do not is the lack of sufficient memory for file sharing. The Mac OS 9 Mac has 512 MBs of RAM so there is plenty to spare.
I read an AI suggestion to increase the memory allocated in the memory part of Get Info on the File Sharing Extension inside the Extensions folder but there isn't a memory part when you get info on it. I remember doing this with Res Edit years ago and I have searched for this info to no avail. Any suggestions? |

you're limited to 10 shares with filesharing. do you have two regular folders shared as well as these 8 disk images? |

Btw would the 10 share increase if I used AppleShare IP? |
