| Finding a Replacement SE/30 Brightness Pot |
Posted by: Anonymous on 2026-05-01 07:49:44 Nothing new here, my brightness pot has rusted away and the metal parts have disintegrated.
There's a post from 2021 regarding this, but maybe something's changed in the last five years?
Any help? Thanks! |

Posted by: Anonymous on 2026-05-05 18:14:30 Heh. Another question, how do I possibly remove the metal bit from the actual plastic itself? |
Posted by: Byrd on 2026-05-05 20:25:16 posssibly it’s stuck in with corrosion usually pops out easily. A squirt of WD40 and maybe lever it out using something that doesn’t damage the plastic |
Posted by: Anonymous on 2026-05-06 07:22:06 Ah! I figured something like that was the case. You wouldn't happen to have any insight on a replacement pot would you... |
Posted by: mikes-macs on 2026-05-06 09:04:53 Would one from a Mac SE work on a Mac SE/30? If so, I may be able to help. |
Posted by: Callan on 2026-05-06 10:38:13 Yup. Same analog boards in both machines. |
Posted by: bibilit on 2026-05-06 10:40:09 Yes, i agree, probably one from a Plus will work too |
Posted by: mikes-macs on 2026-05-06 12:32:02 I'm not sure how to remove it. Do you want the entire analog board? Free. Cost of shipping from 03833. |
