Sony 2MB MP-F75W Floppy Schematics ...
Posted by: franklyn on 2026-04-23 11:16:41
Looking for the schematics from a Sony 2MB Floppy from a Macintosh IIcx ...

The Floppy works fine but the ejector motor isn't running. It's not the gearbox or its plastic gears in it.

Check the drive transistor on the underside of the floppy (b7). It'll be close to the plug going to the eject mech. I had this same issue with one of my drives and this was what caused it.

You can find a copy of the schematics in the se/30 schematics done by bomarc.

... thanks but I can not find it.

It's on page 8. Here's a pic of it, and here is a link to the full bomarc se/30 schematics.

The schematic isn't quite accurate, because on my floppy drive, it isn't transistor Q7 that controls the eject motor, but rather Q9...

Did it fix it?

The Q9 transistor is ok. I must test more, I will see the Eject signal comes from Pin9 of the Floppy connector ...

The circuit diagram is correct. Is there a list of replacement SMD transistors (EU types) for the original types? They must, of course, have the same pinout.

I destroyed the Q9 while trying to control it manually and replaced it with a BC557 for testing purposes. There's an internal switch in the ejection motor unit; could that be my problem?
