Classic II slow to come to life and no audio
Posted by: Lockjaw8Y9 on 2026-04-05 17:30:32
I recently revived a Classic II. Or, rather, attempted to revive a Classic and a Classic II. After a recap, the Classic II Power Supply blows CP2. Not going to dig into that right now, but the Classic PS and MB both work, as does the Classic II MB.

Sort of.

As in, the computer starts fine, but there's no audio and the video takes a while to appear. I transferred the CRT and the PS to the Classic II, and it boots from the hard drive and can read and write floppy disks. But the audio is dead and the video takes its time to get going.

Here's a video of the video slowly coming to life.

Any ideas?

Never seen this issue, but you still can have an issue with the Analog Board, what voltages have you got at the Molex (HD connector)

Seems like the 12 volt is ok but the 5 volt is not in the first place.

Also, concerning sound, broken trace somewhere

Looking at the video, the image is stretched up too much… so either a voltage issue, or a potentiometer to be properly set to achieve the correct dimension.
