Well, I wanted to build the top down re imagining of the Atari game COMBAT : Tank Pong for #MARCHintosh, but very quickly learned that to do it properly, I need a lot more time... and a lot more knowledge. π€ͺ So I haven't given up on it, it's just been delayed.
In the mean time, I decided to write a little clone of Tetir... err.. I mean.. a totally original and unique Generic Block Game... π€
I targeted the 68040, and tested with my L475 and CC MYSTIC (LC575) running Systems 7.5.5.
Also runs great in Basilisk II.
I'm working to optimize it a bit further for even more particle fun.

Some of the effects you may recognize from PewPew, πΎπ½πΈ like particle explosions and screen shake. π₯³
π΅ Contains 5 music tracks, selectable by pressing 1-2-3-4-5 and 0 to mute (why mute?!?). πΆ

Happy #MARCHintosh 2026!

Dark Systems BBS | Posted by: 3lectr1cPPC on 2026-03-29 16:04:49 I will have to download this to see how it compares to some other non-generic block games which I have run on my vintage macs! Good work π | Posted by: is2scooby on 2026-04-01 11:53:16 Neat! | Posted by: DW1992 on 2026-04-01 15:06:18 Cheers π
It was a lot of fun to try and write in a short turn around, and I learned a ton doing it. Now, if only I could remember it... π
As always, the fully commented C source is available, as well as the full CodeWarrior PRO 4 project folder, including all resources and libraries.
Grab the .SIT containing the source, resources, libraries & CW project HERE
If you just want the commented source code text, download the main.c.txt file below and remove the .txt extension.
Enjoy!
Sorry for the state of my code... and the comments.. my sense of humour is very 80s. πΌ It was a wild time... π
If you make improvements or other features, share them up!
I'd love to see and learn from them!
