| Posted by: theletter0xff on 2026-03-17 21:16:04 Recapping a portable, it happened to have the backlight upgrade installed. I did a thing to it, but hopefully this may help others. My dwell time was too long, I hadn't added enough new solder, so it suffered some delamination and a lifted pad. I need to know a reasonable value for L1, I'm not able to measure it. C10 and C11 are both 470uF 25v caps.  Attached are scans of the front and back of the depopulated board, oooh, ahh. | |

Sad Mac error code 01000400 0007FFF6 Following http://myoldmac.net/FAQ/SADerror-portable.htm to decode results in ROM test failed, divide by zero. At a guess, there are traces hiding under chips that are bad, or logic chips were zapped by someone trying to power it with a bad battery and the wrong power adapter. | |
