Win95 on LC630 DOS connecting to GlobalTalk?
Posted by: CTB on 2026-03-15 14:05:45
I have an LC630 DOS Compatible running System 7.6.1 and Windows 95 on the DOS side. I have the Mac side connected to GlobalTalk no problem including my own Netatalk A2SERVER on my home network. This is done via ethernet with an Apple CommSlot II ethernet card and Apple Internet Router 3 running on an LC475.

I want to get the Win95 side of things working firstly with my Netatalk server and then more broadly getting it connected to GlobalTalk. I have a few questions-
1) Is it actually possible given two "different" machines connecting to the same network interface?
2) How do I configure the ethernet card to work with a vanilla install on Win95?
3) What software do I need to get Win95 to see the AppleTalk network?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

This may be possible, see the mention of using the appletalk protocol on page 65 for windows for workgroups: https://archive.org/details/apple-d...date-user-manual/page/64/mode/1up?q=Appletalk
