UT99 on Mac with files from Windows version
Posted by: sega dude on 2016-10-23 09:48:46
I have the Windows version of the original Unreal Tournament (not GOTY). I want to play it on my PowerMac G4 under OS 9. I have the demo of UT99 on the PowerMac G4, and it runs really well. I want the full version on the PowerMac G4. My question is, is it possible to turn the Mac demo into the full version by copying the files from the Windows installation of the game? I know this can be done on OS X with Unreal Tournament 2004, as I've done it before. Can the same thing be done with the original Unreal Tournament?

Maybe it will, maybe it won't. But why don't you give this a shot. This has more chances of working.

Nope. Doesn't work. The demo only works with the demo assets. And anyway, the demo uses a *really* old version of the runtime, like 428 or something.
