Posted by: ereuter on 2026-02-05 17:18:22I'm using a BlueSCSI v2 in my SE/30 (internal with access through the rear). I am connected to WiFi. What is the best way to get files OFF of the SE/30 and onto my modern Mac? FTP? Something else? The BlueSCSI Transfer utility is great for going the other way, but I have a ton of files on floppies that I want to retrieve.

Posted by: DW1992 on 2026-02-05 18:09:15I have an FTP server setup on my Synology NAS. I use Fetch on the SE/30 (with a ZuluSCSI Slim w/Wifi) to connect to the FTP site, and on my modern OSX machine, I just open the share where the FTP root folder lives.
Works well.
Posted by: mikes-macs on 2026-02-05 18:11:31With all due respect, this question comes up on here every 9 days. There are numerous threads discussing the many ways to accomplish this task. A simple search will result in many responses to this topic. Some go into great detail about this and explain everything with detail. To re-write everything here would take a week.

Posted by: Huxley on 2026-02-11 12:29:47Just chiming in to confirm that I do this frequently from my SE/30 using the BlueSCSI's WiFi connection + Fetch + a simple FTP server app on my MacBook Pro. Works like a charm!

Posted by: ereuter on 2026-02-11 12:52:07Thanks. I got exactly this setup going since I asked the question. What I haven’t worked out as how to deal with moving a lot of files at once. I could stuff them, but it seems that there is no working StuffIt expander for Apple silicon. Seems like I might need a 10-year-old Mac as a bridge.

Get the top application for archives on Mac. It’s a RAR extractor, it allows you to unzip files, and works with dozens of other formats.

with moving a lot of files at once.
BluSCSi-WiFi isn't convenient for large amounts of data/files, and compression with Stuffit is time-consuming.
I recommend investing in an Ethernet card (Asante Maccon?). You can connect a simple Wi-Fi access point to it.
The difference in speed and convenience is incredible.
Secondly, it's more convenient to create an FTP server on the SE/30.
Then you can view the shared folder on your new Mac and select multiple files at once.
