I'm hoping for some advice before I keep working on restoring my Macintosh Classic.
All audio on my Mac comes out as a little pop. It is consistent in volume, unresponsive to the volume settings.
I've already recapped the logic board, twice. I've also found no open traces. Searching the internet and the Dead Mac Scrolls offered no solutions, and I'm not sure what to do next.
The audio WAS initially working after the first recap, but at some point while doing more work on it, it started giving the pops. I didn't even notice until later.
I've done work on vintage audio equipment, but not old computers like a compact Macintosh. Kinda a newbie to this.
Any advice is appreciated. | Posted by: bibilit on 2025-12-30 23:45:18 Still thinking you have got a broken trace, probably appeared after the recap, or a nasty sound chip.
The sound chip is nearby two 47µf capacitors | | 1 |
