| Unable to upgrade Blue & White G3 to 10.4.11 - help? |

I recently adopted a beautiful Blue & White G3. The machine has 256MB of RAM, a single 60GB Seagate IDE drive, a DVD drive, and Zip drive.
Installation of 10.4.6 went smoothly without any hitches. It was a basic install for the sake of time.
Upgrading to 10.4.11 with the installation combo PKG file doesn't work. The process says my volume does not meet the requirement of the upgrade.
I have used this package on G4 machines in the past without any problems.
Is the G3 limited to 10.4.6?

https://everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g3/specs/powermac_g3_300_bl.html -- all B&W G3s should support 10.4.11; that's the last OS they support.
However, doesn't the combo update require 10.4.8? I've got an all-in-one updater that's 907.3MB (will update any version of 10.4) and a combo updater that will update 10.4.8 to 10.4.11 that's 155.6MB. Both are on DMGs. |

My MacOSXUpdCombo10.4.11PPC.dmg is 180.8 MiB (189.6 MB) and can update all versions of 10.4 to 10.4.11, according to

I've used it to successfully update from 10.4.6 (retail DVD fresh installs) on all G3, G4, and G5 towers. |
