| New SE/30 find! |
Greetings all,
I came across an ad for an SE/30 on FB marketplace and I just couldn't resist, as I've been wanting one for decades. Appeared to be in fairly good condition, but the owner was Ukrainian and didn't speak much english. No idea on the condition or the RAM, but apparently it did power up. I took a chance.

Brought her home, and took it apart to see what I've got.

Battery was intact - that's a relief.

Pretty sure this is 8MB of RAM.

Surprisingly clean inside. No obvious issues.

Some cap leakage. Looks like a recap is in order to get started, but I expected that.

Original Quantum drive - doubt it works.

Overall I think this is a pretty clean SE/30. Can't wait to get started!

Great find! Most important now is taking off the old caps and clean it with an isopropanol bath and a soft brush.

That's in pretty decent nick! Good find.

That does look clean. Those are the sort you want, not overly damaged or worn out, just needing some careful attention to get back into service. Nice find!

Recapped, installed 64MB of RAM, and an
SMC ROM. She lives! A bit of screen flicker but otherwise looking good.

screen flicker Reflow solder joints. Specially from the connectors on the analog board and one on the logic board.

That screen needs adjustment too 😁
