I have acquired 8 units of the 68030@25 CPU and 4 units of the 68030@33 CPU (2 of which are RC). Since these are old parts, I am assuming they are genuine and not counterfeit. Before I connect the Mac and test it, is there anything else I should consider? | Posted by: Byrd on 2025-09-07 22:48:28
No, if NOS check for bent pins and any corrosion, the 25Mhz parts should run fine at 33Mhz, while the 33Mhz probably hit the wall with varying success @ 40Mhz. | Posted by: crazyben on 2025-09-08 06:18:00
Thank you. It appears that the cpu was removed from the logic board because some of the heatsinks were present. Fortunately, there was no corrosion and I managed to straighten the bent pins. | | 1 |
