| Performer Pro in a Mac Classic |
Posted by: Kevinlenane on 2025-08-16 13:10:06 I could never seem to get my Classic to boot with the MicroMac Performer sitting over the original processor - so I finally recapped the accelerator and cleaned the socket clip and if finally boots. Oddly enough the Tash20 device that works normally w the classic no longer boots w the accelerator in. I wonder if that's related to it having a 68030 since the tash20 doesn't work w the SE30 either. Anyway, I feel the pride of a conquest by just having it boot - I now need to grab the driver and stuff it in a new hard disk and add an FPU for the "Max" Classic experience short of just sticking in a Classic II board. |

It looks like it has some cache onboard - I wonder how much faster this board is versus the more simplified cache-less boards. Nice card! |

Posted by: Tashtari on 2025-09-09 09:09:17 What does the accelerator do with the ROM of the Classic? If it patches the Sony driver, it's possible that it gets rid of the HD20 support. |
