| MAC Plus Sad Face 03c510 |
Posted by: myequation on 2016-10-04 06:55:34 Tried using a joystick (first time) on my Macintosh Plus today. The Mac rebooted when moving the joystick position.
Now it boots to a Sad Face icon and error code 03c510.
I was reading this page but I do not understand how to decipher my error code.:

Any help would be appreciated.

Posted by: Bunsen on 2016-10-04 10:52:20 What joystick? I hope it's not one from a PC or literally any other computer or gaming system. The only joysticks which will work with a Mac /edit/ pre-USB / are ones made for a Mac. If you've somehow plugged another type of joystick into the back of your Plus, there's every chance you've fried something.

Certainly an Apple product made in the early 80s
I'm positive a chip(s) is fried. Hopefully deciphering the error code can point me in the right direction.

Posted by: turbo on 2016-10-08 06:24:08 That's the Apple Joystick II, isn't it? IIRC this is a DB9 connector normally. I think you're right, this isn't compatible with the Mac.

Posted by: Bunsen on 2016-10-08 22:43:14 Edited my reply above: USB controllers are of course compatible, it's the older, proprietary ones you have to watch out for.
As far as I remember, every Mac game controller pre-USB used the ADB port.
