I want to upgrade the RAM on my Tangerine iBook G3 (it has a 64MB RAM card installed). I believe it uses PC66 3.3V 144-pin SO-DIMM cards, but I was wondering if I can use a PC133 3.3V 144-pin SO-DIMM, 256 MB RAM card in it?
Like this one:

Alternatively, do I need to stay with PC66? For example the card below? I prefer the 256 MB card, obviously.

Pretty sure that's just the clock rate, and using an higher rated clock SO-DIMM on a system with a slower clock rate won't cause any problems. PC100 and PC133 went through this phase back in the early 2000s. | Posted by: Byrd on 2025-07-13 03:07:35
As long as you purchase some vanilla good quality PC133 RAM (such as with Hynix, Samsung chips) it'll down clock fine to PC66, PC100 speeds | Posted by: Pilgrim33 on 2025-07-14 18:43:09
