Maybe? historical prototypes related to Lisa Office and/or MacWrite? Encore Systems...
Posted by: Frobozz on 2025-06-08 19:35:33I was trolling through eBay looking for some early dev tools, and came across this lot. It's $35. Encore systems is the team that wrote MacWrite. I don't know what "Glass" is. A top secret project? Nothing interesting at all? Who knows. Some of the disks have LisaList, etc., on them. They could be working copies, or maybe they are Beta builds. I'm almost curious enough to buy it myself, but not quite. Anybody know anything more about Encore Systems besides what the basic Google search returns?
I looked at the seller's other auction items, nothing jumped out to me as related.

Glad to hear! Could be a real gem.
Posted by: cheesestraws on 2025-06-09 11:19:49That looks like a fun disc haul. Given the development discs mostly talk about MPW rather than Workshop, I'd bet any source code in here would be mac-related rather than Lisa, but I'm keen to be proven wrong (and earlyish mac source code would also be very cool). I will wait with interest!

That's kinda what we're thinking; I'm rather curious about what the "Lisa badge project" disk has on it, though. And it may well turn out these things are all blank or corrupt. Hopes aren't terribly high but if we manage to scour anything off of them we'll absolutely keep folks updated.
On their own, it's a pretty darn neat find, I'd say! 🙂 Thank you, @Frobozz, for posting about them!
Posted by: Frobozz on 2025-06-09 14:36:56oh, cool! I'm glad someone picked them up and will archive them. Or at least try. (and I'm not just saying that because now I feel better about wasting 3 hours trolling through eBay searches on floppies 😉
