now that my TAM lives again, I'm re-installing it 🙂 I have one problem that I can resolve: the brightness control buttons don't work at all, were all the others buttons do. I can change the volume, mute the sound, and call the tuner app when pressing others buttons. As all of those buttons are on the same small pcb mounted beside the cd-rom, I'm not sure if the brightness button can be physically defective, looks strange to me. On the other side, there is no brightness control slider in the monitor and sound preference panel. I'm running Mac OS 8.
Is there some extension to install to be able to control the brightness ?
Thanks! | Posted by: adespoton on 2025-06-04 09:39:58 Have you tried the Brightness control panel? You may have to pull it off a System 7.x device. | Posted by: guibrush on 2025-06-04 12:16:10 Good idea, but I don’t have it. Can’t find it on the installation CD I have. Any idea where I can find it? | Posted by: Byrd on 2025-06-04 14:09:27 TAM brightness setting was always controlled by physical buttons not software. Did it work before you took it apart? There is a probably a cable somewhere that needs connecting perhaps to the DAV board between the LCD motherboard video output - follow the mess of cables 😀 | | 1 |
