eMate 300 doesn't boot
I'm a bit stumped with this one. Got my hands on a lovely eMate 300, hinges are ok, rom in place, chimes and that's it.
I am able to hard reset it, erase everything and restore defaults but the behaviour ends up the same, orange led, chime and blank screen.
I've disconnected the battery at some point to see if would make any difference but nope.
Any ideas what could be wrong?

Do you know if the eMate has a memory upgrade installed? If it does, you might try removing that.

(I responded to this over on TinkerDifferent as well.)

Have you checked the flat cable to the display? Hinge springs are known to sometimes punch a hole through the display cable

From the video it's almost as if it thinks you've got the display shut. Have you had it apart? There is a plunger which is part of the hinge and presses a switch on the board - can you see if it's in the right place?

Apparently the problem was the power supply, connected to my bench power supply it works fine.
