| double the sensitivity of your sluggish Apple desktop mouse |

Posted by: Boctor on 2025-05-05 08:15:22 Really clever control panel, thanks for sharing this. Immediately added it to my default SCSI image for the battery-less SE/30.
I notice there's also a "Mouse3" cdev mentioned on the page, and now I'm curious if this is an incremental update or functional improvement in any way. |
Posted by: LaPorta on 2025-05-05 09:06:48 Just to wonder? Why would you need this on a screen the size of an SE/30’s? |

I feel the tracking is very slow compared to my moderns computers. I actually need to pickup my mouse to get across the screen on my SE/30 because not enough real estate on my desk. |

Posted by: smrieck511 on 2025-05-05 10:09:18 Specifically the G5341 is a very sluggish mouse compared to others. Even on an SE/30 with the speed in the mouse control panel maxed, it. still
doesnt feel too snappy...this fixed the issue perfectly. |

doesnt feel too snappy...this fixed the issue perfectly. Very interesting, I will need to see if I have any of those particular mice to try. Ultimately, yes, it’s a different feel than today’s machines because there is so much more real estate to cover. On the flip side, crazy fast mouse movement makes pinpoint control more of an issue. |
Posted by: smrieck511 on 2025-05-05 10:44:09 well I wouldn't say they're real slow but just a little slower than I like them even maxed out. I have a power computing ADB mouse that feels twice as fast. |
Posted by: nathall on 2025-05-05 20:28:29 Huh, weird. I don’t even have the mouse tracking turned all the way up on my 640x480+ screen size Macs. Usually second or third to highest is the sweet spot for me.
Now, the tracking selections under System 1 and 2, on the other hand (Mouse and Tablet) could certainly use something like this. |
Posted by: smrieck511 on 2025-05-06 10:03:39 I probably like my mouse abnormally fast. To each their own. I don't like pulling my mouse all the way across the mouse pad. |
Posted by: obsolete on 2025-05-06 15:37:00 The slow mouse is the most annoying thing about running a system without a PRAM battery for me, so this seems like it would be most useful in that scenario. |
Posted by: Callan on 2025-05-06 17:38:31 Agreed... especially with my supposed 'turbo' mouse. 😁 |
Posted by: LaPorta on 2025-05-06 20:24:30 One good reason all my used machines have batteries. |
