My 2.4GHz mouse doesn't work on Mac OS 9.
Posted by: mcmcjohn on 2025-04-29 07:05:19 I purchased UGREEN's 2.4GHz wireless mouse and I plugged the USB receiver into my Power Mac G4 and booted it up. The mouse worked fine on the initial boot screen, during the few seconds when the Mac OS 9 logo appears, in Mac OS X, and even on the startup disk selection screen when holding down the Option key. However, it doesn't respond at all once Mac OS 9 fully loads. When I checked in the system profiler, it shows up as 'usbcompositedevice.' Does this mean there is no driver available for this mouse in Mac OS 9, or is there perhaps a driver or patch that can make it work? Thanks.
Posted by: s_pupp on 2025-07-11 12:55:43 USB Overdrive supports many mice that don't come with OS9 drivers. So far, there's only been one mouse I've tried with it that didn't work.
