| Is this a Sync on Green Issue? MacIIsi with an AD-A205 adapter |
Posted by: kjoh on 2025-04-21 11:37:32 Is there a combination of DIP switch settings that will work? Tearing my hair out here.
I've tried with a couple of different LCDs. Sometimes I get no image at all.

Posted by: kjoh on 2025-04-21 11:40:24 Funny, I let it boot up, and now it's almost normal. Except that it seems to fade back and forth, and now it's green again. Set to 110010. Will try some more. |
Posted by: ArbysTPossum on 2025-04-21 11:49:57 I was using a Twin Turbo Graphics card with a VGA display, and it did this, there was a Sync on Green toggle in software, that fixed it. A similar thing. |

Posted by: jmacz on 2025-04-21 11:58:52 I could be wrong, but you're using on board video from a IIsi, it's going to output a sync signal on green. Unless your LCD supports sync on green, you'll have some issues. It's possible the green tint is due to that sync signal riding on the green channel and causing the LCD to confuse it with the green signal. You should check what your LCDs support, not all support sync on green. |

what your LCDs support, not all support sync on green. Hitting the thrift stores tomorrow, maybe a multi-sync monitor is what I need. And, yes, it is the on-board video. |
Posted by: finkmac on 2025-04-21 12:06:39 highly recommend a decent NEC MultiSync |
Posted by: David Cook on 2025-04-21 12:34:25 I believe this will take care of your problem:

Posted by: kjoh on 2025-04-21 13:19:34 Hmm, are these open source? I find it daunting to order from the states, with exchange, duty, shipping. Before you know it, I've spent $100 on an adapter. |

A sony Trinitron will work well with SOG.
+1
I use a Sony Trinitron 17” CRT through a VGA switchbox to all my headless classic Macs, one of which is a IIsi. The thing can handle any resolution and refresh rate I throw at it. |

highly recommend a decent NEC MultiSync Agreed. Also consider older 4:3 Dell LCDs, they frequently supported sync on green. This list looks pretty comprehensive if you want specific models:

This list That looks like a very useful list. I happen to have a Dell 4:3 lcd here. Not on the list, but I'll give it a try. Thanks |
