| Mac iisi nubus issues |
Posted by: imactheknife on 2025-04-08 10:15:16 Recapped a barn find iisi and it came back pretty good so far. It chimes, boots, passes all tests i have tried on it. Only thing is i have 3 different nubus Ethernet adapters that are known good because i have another iisi to try on. When i stick any one of them in the nubus slot on this machine it turns on, no chime, screen comes on but nothing else. No mouse no floppy no raster. There was rodent piss on the board, the caps were decent, no trace repair needed on any or those. Psu is recapped too.
If i pull the nubus adapter out boots fine. Any ideas? |
Posted by: chrisrueckert on 2025-04-08 12:48:14 Could it be a power issue? Recapping the PSU and the logic board might also help. Aanother way to find out more would be to swap the PSU from the working si. |

Also depends on the current draw for the Nubus card (for example a Radius Rocket won't work). He mixed up the nomenclature, known good NIC in the PDS slot is causing the problem, no NuBus involvement. Power likely won't be the issue in that scenario.
BTW: Rocket works fine under RocketShare (RocketWare incompatible) in the IIsi, given my janky setup with a mauled IIcx form factor PSU sitting atop the FDD. RocketShare setup is all but useless given the crap Video of the IIsi, needs a second screen for the Rocket. 🙄 |
