Anyone know a SMART disk checking utility for OS X, that runs on PPC? I've been using SMART Utility for years, but it looks like that is Intel only. I have a few old PPC Macs that I want to verify have no bad blocks. | Posted by: jovianartifact on 2025-03-28 07:11:02
Try out TechTool Pro, I can't start it up to test it right now bc I'm at work but I would imagine that's a good place to start. A quick search says that Norton Utilities will corrupt OS X disks, so definitely avoid that. | Posted by: l008com on 2025-03-29 02:56:32
Turns out older versions of SMART Utilty itself do run on PPC and thats the vrsion i have installed on my Tiger utility volume so i guess i don't really have any problem after all. | | 1 |
