Lisa startup failure
Posted by: aihk on 2025-03-21 05:09:41
Lisa keeps making a clicking sound when it turns on, and the rubbish screen keeps jumping. I have an oscilloscope and a multimeter. Where should I start to solve the problem?

Can lisa boot without memory and IO board? I mean can I see normal picture with only CPU board?

I don’t believe you can boot with no I/O board.

Those are some interesting boards you have, are you building your own boards?

Hi, I'm pretty sure you cannot boot any computer without RAM. I also don't think the Lisa can boot without any, so it needs at least one 512K board. The Lisa does perform a POST at startup, which checks for memory.
