The computer required some minor repairs (mostly age related) but boots perfectly now. I have several original floppies for it, a mouse, keyboard, external 400k drive, and as mentioned, a Tash20 I got for my 512ke. Now I would like to use it with my original 512k.
I understand that the original 512k won't boot from a hard drive, but I was under the impression that it would still recognize one if booted from a floppy.
I've tested the external floppy port and it's working, but the computer still isn't recognizing the Tash20 when attached. I can only assume that I am either missing a driver or my disks (which are system 4) are not compatible with the drive.
Anyone know where I'm going wrong here? | Posted by: dalek on 2025-03-19 07:00:17 You're missing the HD20 Startup Disk. Search for HD20 Init and you'll find what you need. Boot from that floppy which will have the necessary driver to use the HD20/Tash20. | | 1 |
