| Compatible Logic Board and Power Supply for iMac G4 15" 800mhz model |
Posted by: giolicious on 2016-09-17 04:17:00 Hi guys!
I recently acquired a non-working iMac G4 model 800mhz / 256mb / 60HDD / 15" LCD. Seller says it has bad power supply and logic board. Everything else works.
A board from a 700mhz/15" model will probably work? There are other imac g4 boards for sale on ebay for 800mhz/17" and 1ghz/17" model. Will these boards work with mine. I just want to know first if these boards are compatible especially the higher rated processor like the 1ghz.
How about the 16pin power supply from othe imac g4 models? Mine is a 14pin power supply but will a 16pin be modified to work?
Will appreciate any info you can share. thank you.

You will have to do your own troubleshooting to confirm or deny this.

The CPU is soldered down on all of those, isn't it? i just opened mine and it looks like the cpu is directly soldered to the logic board. 🙁

Posted by: SlateBlue on 2016-09-17 17:35:11 I have a power supply and logic board from one that I'm turning into a lamp. I think it's a 700 MHz model, but will have to confirm. Not sure if they're any good, but if you're in the US, you can have them for the cost of shipping.
