| Quadra 700 power pinout and source? |
Posted by: eharmon on 2025-02-23 23:00:38 It seems my Quadra 700 is missing it's 4-pin cable for HD power.
Does anyone know the pinout? From a picture online I think it's (numbered from bottom left viewed from the cable end):
1 - 12v
2 - Ground
3 - Ground
4 - 5v
Which helpfully mirrors the pinout of the other end. Can anyone confirm?
Obviously I can make one myself, but it requires both Mini-Fit Jr and Mate-n-Lok bits which is quite annoying. So, second question, does anyone know if there's anywhere to source these? There are mechanically compatible cables out there but they're for the 12v PSU connectors which use a different pinout. |
Posted by: Byrd on 2025-02-24 00:34:09 Unsure of pinout as away from my collection, but an old Pentium 4 era ATX PSU with molex HD and 12V connector would be the perfect donor - splicing the molex onto the 12V plug |

View attachment 83736 That's perfect, thanks! That matches what I measured but I like to double check before I blow up a drive with 12v 😀. |
