Posted by: franklyn on 2025-02-22 06:13:56 Is there a USB WiFi dongle that has a driver for a PPC G4 with OSX 10.4 or 10.5?
My MacMini has no Airport Modul but it could be that this doesn't support normal WiFi anyway ...? |

usb ethernet dongle
USB powered, connect via WIFI and to Mini with ethernet. No driver needed. |
Posted by: s_pupp on 2025-02-22 09:05:55 I agree with using a USB ethernet dongle. The one I use with my Powerbook G3 Lombard is: Vonets.
I used to use the Addlogix Wireless-G USB wifi adapter. Here is a link to info about it, since security errors prevent me from uploading photos of mine: old Newegg page. It is limited to the 54mbps of 802.11g. The Vonets is 300mbps 802.11n, much faster, and much more reliable. If the Ali Express version mentioned by indibil can be shipped to your location, it would be cheaper than the shipping alone of my very aged Addlogix. Plus, the Vonets and Ali Express adapters will work with any operating system capable of ethernet, without needing drivers. |

Posted by: franklyn on 2025-02-23 08:13:55 I have a WLAN dongle but there is probably no driver for it, right? |
Posted by: s_pupp on 2025-02-23 10:41:19 It depends on the Realtek chip being used. It might be worth trying the drivers on this page at the Macintosh Garden. |
Posted by: davecom on 2025-02-23 13:48:59 If you're in the US and comfortable taking it apart and putting it back together, I can send you the WiFi/Bluetooth module. After refurbishing 80+ of these I have an extra or two. PM me if interested. |
