Is it possible that the Gestalt check fails because of the overclock? Try wish I were…

Yes it's the overclock causing trouble. You can use an emulator like Basilisk to install onto the disk image you're using. You could also revert back to stock 25MHz speed to do the install, then try the overclock again. Easiest thing would be to install from a modern computer, then reinsert the SD card back into the BlueSCSI. You'll be amazed at how fast an OS installs in Basilisk!

..or revert the hardware overclock and use software overclocking

It might be possible to use WishIwere to spoof a different identity - I have never tried it myself, but it may be worth a shot before you do hardware mods? http://macintoshgarden.org/apps/wish-i-were-v20

Put the BlueSCSI Device on my Quadra700 also Overclock to 32Mhz and install the System from CD Rom and use it than with the Performa 475.
