| Apple IIGS Getting CD-ROM to play music CDs |
Posted by: Ajaxermd on 2024-12-24 09:32:26 I'm trying to get my Apple IIGS to play music CDs. Some background on my setup:
- Apple IIGS (ROM3) with 8MB RAM, running GS/OS 6.04 (image from https://www.whatisthe2gs.apple2.org.za/)
- The GS/OS image is running off a BOOTI USB drive
- CD Remote Desktop Accessory is installed
- Drivers Installed: SCSI.MANAGER, SCSICD.DRIVER and SCSIHD.DRIVER
- SCSI card is GGLabs recreation of the Apple SCSI card
- CD-ROM is a CD-150 so it's SCSI1 compatible. IIGS should support CDSC and CD150. Set to SCSI ID 4.
- The speakers are plugged into the CD-ROM audio out. My understanding is that the CD Remote is basically just changing tracks, the audio doesn't run through the computer.
I'm getting an error message when I launch the CD Remote desk accessory that reads
"The AppleCD SC drive cannot be found. Please check your SCSI cable and SCSI Priority assignments"
I've been trying to get this running for months! Would really appreciate a Christmas Miracle!
