| iSync 2.x download? |

I am trying to resurrect some old palm backups and get the data into a more modern format. I am using a PowerBook G4 12” with Mac OS 10.4.11. I have hit a bit of a wall with Palm Desktop 4.2.1. It will happily import .ics files but won’t export them. To get around this I am trying to get iSync to work between Palm Desktop and iCal 2.0.5. The most recent version of iSync I can find it 1.2.5 and it wants nothing to do with iCal 2. I have seen reference to iSync 2.4 but no links to download it anywhere. |

I'm pretty sure iSync 2 is part of the standard install of 10.4. You will need the Palm iSync plugin conduit to make it work with Palm Desktop, though. I can't seem to find it online with a quick search but I know I have it archived somewhere since I used it back in the day. I'll have a look.
That said - I'm not sure if it will do what you want, since it would normally just replace Palm Desktop and push your data directly from your Palm PDA through to iCal etc.
It might even be easier to sync your data back to a Palm (you can use an emulator such as Cloud Pilot) and then get the data out directly from there. If you can't find the conduit to make iSync work then a more direct approach using something like Sync Buddy or even Resco Explorer might work. |

Syncing directing into iCal would be fine as I have the data on the LifeDrive as that is how I got the data into Palm Desktop in the first place. It would be great if you could find the Palm isync plugin. Sync Buddy also look interesting. |

If none of the above work there's also Pilot Bridge, but that is still WIP. Unfortunately iSync wants me to launch Palm Desktop 4.0 or higher and do a "First Sync". I have and it still gives the same error. Pilot Bridge connected to the LifeDrive and then hung on "Identifying User" and I have the correct Hotsync name. Oh well. Time to shelves this one for a while. Thanks for your help. |
