| Power Macintosh 6500 & Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh Logic Board Component Level Differences Chart |
Dropping this here for simplicity sake. Basically this chart outlines the differences in components between a Power Macintosh 6500 logic board and a Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh logic board. This is hand especially to Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh owners because if you have a faulty board this will outline what needs to be done to a Power Macintosh 6500 logic board to make it function as a Twentieth Anniversary Macintosh logic board.

This is really interesting - are all the extra parts sound circuitry which is external on the TAM? (except the boot sound config resistor obviously)

Not all of them, but it does mostly look like sound circuitry. For example, all the Jx connectors that make up the ports that stick out of the back of the case are unstuffed on the TAM according to the chart, which makes sense given that they're all in a totally different location than the 6500. But according to jajan's chart, it's mostly things related to the sound system on the 6500 that are unstuffed on the TAM. (Sheet 15 in the 6500 schematic.)
