I’ve seen a number of threads on floppy issues, but not specifically formatting issues. Drive seems to work fine for read/write. Logic board recapped.
I found a few bad floppies recently, tried to format, failed. Tried to reformat several new floppies, also failed. It goes all the way to ‘creating directory’ then fails.
The drive was cleaned/lubed recently- is there a failure mode specific to formatting that needs another fix? | Posted by: finkmac on 2024-11-25 09:32:43
in my experience, "newer" floppies tend to not format or read properly in mac floppy drives.
