Virtual PC - Insert and Delete Keys on iBook
Posted by: Scott Baret on 2016-09-07 20:39:20
Until I fix up my old Toshiba T1200, I am running my legacy DOS programs via Virtual PC on my iBook. It works pretty well as far as running DOS programs goes, but it's missing a few keys, namely "insert" and "delete".

Is there any way to map these keys in Virtual PC or else wise? I can't seem to find anything in the program or the manual for the program (which really makes no reference to these keys at all).

I know I could just hook up a standard, run of the mill USB keyboard, which would only set me back a few dollars, but I don't really have the desk space for one...

Why not just use dosbox of for ppc?

fn-Return or fn-I may do the trick for Insert, fn-Delete for delete. if those don't work, you may be able to configure VPC to remap other keystrokes to those functions.

On my PowerBook G3, fn-F7 is marked "insert", and fn-F8 is marked 'delete', they work in VirtualPC for me, I don't know if they are valid on an iBook, too, though.
