I have the BlueSCSI Desktop version in my SE/30, currently
I have created 2gb images with DiskJockey what I'm wanting
to do is create MUCH a bigger image and Partition it in to smaller ones
can I partition the BlueSCSI images like I would a regular drive?
and if so what are my limits on partition size and does the system
partition need to be smaller.
If anyone is thinking about getting the BlueSCSI, I think it's a great
product I set up several drives and the Dynaport Internet connection
And the whole thing has just been flawless. I haven't used my Asante
Mac Con since I set up the Wi-Fi connection through the BlueSCSI
Anyway, I'll check back here for answers in a bit,
Right now, I have downloaded some Telnet software
And am reliving my childhood playing around on some BBS's

Early versions of the Classic Mac OS (prior to 7.5.2) have a 2 GB limit per partition, so higher capacity drives need only be partitioned into multiple 2 GB (or smaller) segments. For Macs running System 7.5.2 through 8.0, the limit is 4 GB (specifically 4,063 MB) per partition, and PCI-based Macs can access up to 2 TB partitions.

For HFS
The maximum volume size under System 6 and System 7 is 2 GB (reduced by 2k to 2,097,150KB using Apple’s HD SC Setup 7.3.5). System 7.5 increased that limit to 4 GB (reduced down to 4,151,534KB, 42,770KB less than 4GB, when using Apple’s HD SC Setup 7.3.5) and System 7.5.2 (and later) increases that limit to 2 TB on some computers, including:
- any computer that came with System 7.5.2 or newer (some 68040 systems)
- any Macintosh computer with PCI slots.
