| My G4 Mac always freezes on boot after gpu upgrade. |
Posted by: mcmcjohn on 2024-10-02 04:59:03 My Power Mac is https://everymac.com/systems/apple/powermac_g4/specs/powermac_g4_400_agp.html.
It is fine with original card “rage 128”, I upgraded card to “ATI 9000 Pro for Mac”, but after that, always freezes after boot.
Here is picture. I can’t do anything, but I can move mouse cursor.
Do I have to anti-upgrade patch like powerlogix or newerTechnology?

Posted by: LaPorta on 2024-10-02 08:37:27 Did you install the specific Radeon 9000 drivers?
Generally speaking, this is required for proper operation. There’s 9.x and 10.x version on that image if I recall. |
