Felt kind a bad for the low offer i sent on 270c but really didnt need it. The auction stated it was recapped and everything. Well, laptop showed up, so was curious to see if cap job was in fact “done”, and how well?? Upon getting keyboard off, i see an original cap with lots of cap leakage and corrosion. Not happy. I pulled the rest of it apart and yeah, it was recapped but unfortunately the guy did not even clean off legs of old original caps, or clean any leakage or corrosion. Holy shat.. not impressed lol..
so anyways, decided to recap it again. Remove radial caps, clean pads, clean all the green corrosion everywhere. Recapped with organic polymers. Works great. Display was also not recapped, so did that too with what i had on hand. Mostly tantalum, and few organic polymer. Also did the inverter board.
This was thing is mint otherwise. 18 megs ram, 240 meg hard drive. Original dock with smooth lid, so can use color duo machines. Recapped the psu and everything is happy. Also put a fpu in dock. It also had a 240 meg hard drive🙂 | Posted by: finkmac on 2024-09-25 18:54:26 wow that old recap job. 🤢
maybe you should open an ebay claim, that's not recapped lol. that's just messed with.
good job getting the display too... pretty much all sharp panels need it. | Posted by: imactheknife on 2024-09-26 05:00:07

I screwed my se/30 years ago on my first attempt and botched my color classic that i then sent to thomas at amiga of rochester lol.. so we learn as we go.. one hopes🙂 i use a lot of organic polymer or tantalums. | | 1 |
