I have 2 of the Apple IIe cards for the Mac LC series, both going into Mac LC IIIs. One card has been recapped and works perfectly with the final version of the Apple IIe software, and the other immediately crashes the Apple II program with the message "Your Apple IIe Card is defective. Problem #1".
Troubleshooting steps so far on the faulty card: new capacitors on the card, a deep clean of a minor amount of leaked electrolyte on the board, and inspection and reflow of every connection on the card under a microscope. I have a replacement pds connector (650908-5 AMP 96 Pin) on the way to swap out in case any cap-goo-gremlins are hiding within that piece.
I'm wondering if a chip went bad, and if there's a good block diagram or list of error codes that can guide me to a defective chip or connection. Are any of the chips standard parts available from the usual electronics suppliers? | | 1 |
