This sticker peaked my interest (I don't remember seeing it in the auction), but it turned out to be nothing.

So, I finally opened up the machine, and imagine my surprise when I found this inside!:

Not the video card I was hoping for, but a dam good substitute!
Given that this now makes four of these in my collection (Daystar 68030's), I think that I will be selling off a Daystar 68030 accelerator soon! | Posted by: Fred1212 on 2024-09-20 01:35:17 And the price is? | Posted by: joshc on 2024-09-20 03:55:20 Nice find. Don't see the Daystar adapter for these often. The one I found with an accelerator had the socketed version. | Posted by: ArmorAlley on 2024-09-20 05:06:00 Unfortunately, the Veruca Salt [1] method of acquiring goodies is often the best way of getting desirable items without paying the hyper-inflated prices offered by those who prey on our hobby. You do end up with lots of computers (and other things) as a consequence though.
@JT737 Congratulations though! Unexpected finds are often a great source of joy and selling it may even pay off the original cost of the SE/30.
If you don't already know about them, pay attention to the wonderful PDS cards developed by (and occasionally on these fora sold by) Bolle. If you are one who wants to maximise the utility of your SE/30, they are well worth your while.

I have a 40mhz daystar that will probably be the one I sell.....after I make sure that it works fine (I bought it in a IIci, but have never tested it yet).
@ArmorAlley -I have a few of Bolle's cards, including his wonderful dual PDS adapter/ethernet combo card! It is actually the card that I'm using in my profile pic. And yea, I definitely have quite the collection of computers at this point! That's the next thing I need to do....start selling some of them off.
One thing at a time, I suppose.
@joshc -This is my first official Daystar SE/30 adapter that I've ever had! | | 1 |
