Both of these use a connector that fits into a slot in the computer that includes a power connector not on the bluescsi. I thought the bluescsi works off of power provided on the scsi bus, like it does on the external bluescsi, and would not need the 4 pin power (there is a Power jumper for that on the bluescsi). However, when trying to use the internal bluescsi, it is not recognized. I have termination on, no jumper on the power pins, and the bluescsi is not recognized. What am I doing wrong here? Thanks. | Posted by: dv- on 2024-09-12 07:17:58 The internal blueSCSI uses a PC-style 4-pin floppy power connection. The hard drive power in the computer is provided by a 4-pin molex connector, which is also very, very common.
Adapters are pretty common.
| Posted by: Lord Refa on 2024-09-12 09:23:41 Thanks for the link. Have you ever put an internal bluescsi in a performa 550 or 575? If you had, you would have noted that there is not near enough space for the connector you mentioned in your post to work. Also, there should be enough power from the scsi bus to power a bluescsi, that has been noted in other discussions. Sorry but your suggestion does not work in this application. | | 1 |
