| AppleSoft ROM Errors |
Posted by: Anonymous on 2024-08-21 09:08:02 Heyo,
I’m aware this may has been posted elsewhere, but I’m not sure how to describe the problem.
Upon receiving my Apple IIe (Rev B), I ran Applecillin II and the Apple II Plus dealer service program, and they both seem to have errors regarding ROM F0 and F8. I assume I have to replace these or maybe reflash them, but I don’t know what to do or where they’re located. Any advice?
UPDATE: I found the Apple IIe diagnostic V2.1 disk, and that passes the ROM check without error. |

Posted by: Anonymous on 2024-08-21 09:37:30 Oh! Okay, thanks. I assumed Applecillin II was a good starting point for diagnostics. Are there any programs that would be recommended for an IIe? |
Posted by: Callan on 2024-08-21 09:42:43 The built in self test you ran confirmed all is good.. it makes sure all the checksums are correct. You can use the other programs to test peripherals, but because they were written before 2e was a glimmer in apple's eyes the checksums weren't included.
I'm not sure if there is a diagnostics written specifically for the 2e (or platinum for that matter). If someone else knows of one can they chime In. |
Posted by: Arbee on 2024-08-21 10:02:10 There's an official Apple IIe / IIc diagnostic program. I think you can find it on Asimov. |
