| Best way to install Mac OS 8.6 on a PowerBook 3400c |
Posted by: BespokeMan on 2024-08-18 05:58:25 I made a virtual machine using SheepSaver and installed Mac OS 8.6 (Sawtooth AGP version). I will restore the virtual disk to a CF card and put that into a PowerBook 3400c. In theory it should work. Has anyone done the same and verified that it works on the same or similar machine? |

In the absence of a CF card reader in the PCMCIA slot, would my method work? |

I figured I should just use the PowerBook 3400 7.6 restore CD. I have burned it to a CF card but the PCMCIA card reader keeps getting ejected. Do I need a working PRAM battery to boot from a CF card? I tried pressing cmd + opt + shift + del at boot but it doesn't work. |
