On boot, the sytem was not sped up at all. Speedometer showed that it was operating just like any other Macintosh Plus. Seller said that maybe something is loose and asked me to open it and re-seat everything. So I did. It appears that there is installed a Total Systems add-on. Now the machine starts with a checkerboard-style display, no "good Mac boot chime", nothing. Not sure what else I can do do triage this, does anyone have recommendations?

Thanks | Posted by: JC8080 on 2024-08-23 15:37:43 That RAM expansion board is removable, and looks like it has already come partway loose. I would fully seat that connector and try again. That board will work without the RAM expansion, it will just use the RAM on the Plus logic board, it is accessed more slowly than the RAM on the expansion. I don't know if there is a jumper or anything that needs to be changed if you remove the RAM board. I have the same accelerator, which has since failed, but used to work without the RAM expansion. | | 1 |
