Disabling the internal speaker on Powerbook 520c

Is there a way to disable the internal speaker on my Powerbook 520c without opening the machine up and physically unplugging the speaker?

On most machines, the internal speakers get disabled when you plug something into the headphone jack

... and this works with the PowerBook 500 series, too. You can use a standard 3.5 mm stereo miniplug in the Sound output port (that is, the one with a speaker icon, next to the ADB port),

Ok thank you for the replies
I will do the bare 3.5mm plug trick

Just an fyi that on these laptops, the speaker cable is right behind the front center bezel cover (where the microphone is) so only one part to remove. Although that one part is fragile with age so you want to go very slow and cautiously if you decide you want to unplug it.
