| Vintage OS application shows as text file |
Posted by: timmy1729 on 2024-07-14 11:19:32 This issue has happened MANY times over the years. I'll get an application on my Mac SE and it is recognized as a text file. Is there any way to fix this? |

Posted by: MacKilRoy on 2024-07-16 05:17:04 If you are downloading or transferring the application to / from a non-vintage MAC, it needs to be encoded before and during the move, or else it loses the resource forks, which are necessary on the Classic MAC side.
So either the text file you refer to is an encoded file that needs decoding, or you’re using a non-vintage Mac to move/store/download the original files. |
