PowerBook Duo 280c + BlueSCSI
Posted by: pgavlin on 2024-07-12 13:46:16
Curious if anybody has successfully used an internal BlueSCSI v2 with a PowerBook Duo 280c (or any 68k Duo). I haven't been able to get this to work in either of the 280c machines I've been working on restoring, though I have had success with a 2300c. I have been able to get an external BlueSCSI to work via a mini dock.

I haven't yet reached out on the BlueSCSI GitHub repo. I do have debug logs that show the machine attempting to read the boot block, though it doesn't get any further beyond the first read.

I should mention that both systems boot fine off of their stock HDDs.

Any update on this? An internal powerbook BlueSCSI v2 works just fine on my Powerbook Duo 230, but am having difficulties with my Duo 280c. External with a dock works fine (and it also boots just fine off the stock hard drive).

Replying to myself - pilot error. The internal BlueSCSI v2 works just fine in a Duo 280c. I had included "280" in the image name in such as way that it was interpreted as sector size.
